The NABJ Career Fair is the largest career expo for Black journalists and media professionals in the country. 

The #NABJ24 Career Fair will take place from July 31-Aug. 2 at the Hilton Chicago. The Career Fair showcases the tremendous range of news organizations and other media entities operating today, from journalism schools and digital startups to top national and regional companies looking for journalists and media-related professionals for their newsrooms and pressrooms.

The companies that attend the Career Fair are seeking to fill full-time positions, internships, and freelance assignments. Employers seek candidates to cover a range of subject areas including health and science, business and economics, investigative journalism, sports, weather, media, technology, politics and government, general assignment, race and justice, metro and community news, arts, culture and entertainment, food, travel and fashion, international news, and more.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Due to the design of this year's NABJ Convention site, there are some unique placement considerations in the NABJ Exhibit Hall Career Fair, which is located in the Salons C&D at the Hilton Chicago hotel. 

This year's layout will be impacted by ceiling height and the presence of columns. The good news is that all exhibitors will have the full 10x10 spaces purchased, whereas the columns will NOT reduce your 10x10 footprint. However, you may need to reconfigure your booth design based on the locations of those foundational hotel columns.

Please note:

  • In this year's NABJ Career Fair, the ceiling height varies in the Salon C (11' 4") and Salon D (9' 1"), and there are several lower ceiling areas that will be indicated on the floor plan.
  • Exhibit hall columns will also be indicated on the floor plan.

NABJ members and convention attendees are strongly encouraged to have updated COVID vaccination/boosters because proof of updated and current COVID vaccination/boosters may be required for entry into any and all sessions. By registering, you agree to abide by all rules and requirements that may be in place now or later which includes during the convention. You understand that refusal to adhere to rules and requirements may lead to immediate expulsion with no refund for registration or any event and activation. NABJ recommends the wearing of masks while reserving the right to mandate masks at any time.  You understand that rules are subject to change at NABJ's sole discretion. By registering for the convention, you understand that such gatherings may expose you to higher risks of contracting COVID and other viruses and that you accept that risk and do not hold NABJ liable for any adverse health conditions you or others may encounter.

 

NOTIFICATIONS AND DISCLAIMERS

As media-centric organizations, all NABJ events are subject to being photographed, video/audio-recorded, screen captured or live-streamed. Attendees, exhibitors, special guests, presenters, and partners of events may be captured via these formats. Full sessions and activities are subject to live-streaming and all such content is the sole property of NABJ to be used in any way NABJ determines to be appropriate.

 

In order to provide listed services and event access, NABJ may export your basic registration information to a secure convention vendor or partner (this includes name and email address but not financial or private information).
